Orford Bay, Bute Inlet


    Located 48 miles from Campbell River is the Orford Bay, original village of the Homalco First Nations People. Today the Orford Bay, in British Columbia's Bute Inlet is the base camp for the popular grizzly bear viewing tours as well as our new Sonora Resort Grizzly Tour that take place on the Orford and surrounding rivers. A visit to Bute Inlet showcases the British Columbia Coastal mountains and their spectacular glacier covered peaks.

 In the fall, Coho, Chum, Chinook, Pink and Sockeye salmon all return to the Orford River providing a feast for hungry grizzly bears preparing for winter hibernation (as well as perfect opportunity for grizzly bear viewing) .
